GUSTAVE FAYET: COLLECTOR - DESIGNER
UNTIL 8 MARCH 2027
Building on its “Icons of Modern Art” exhibitions, devoted to major collectors such as Sergei Shchukin, Mikhail and Ivan Morozov, and Samuel Courtauld, the Fondation continues its exploration of the pioneering figures who shaped the history of modern art with an exceptional exhibition: “Gustave Fayet: Collector - Designer”.
Occupying all the spaces of the Fondation, this major exhibition is presented in two parts, examining Gustave Fayet both as a collector and as a designer, revealing how collecting, creating, and artistic commitment were deeply intertwined throughout his life.
An exhibition unprecedented in scale and scope, bringing together, for the first time in a century, more than 250 works from Gustave Fayet’s extraordinary collection, now dispersed around the world. They are presented alongside 375 of his own creations, most of them never before exhibited. Some have been restored specially for the occasion.
Highlights include 10 paintings by Vincent van Gogh, 78 works by Paul Gauguin, 86 works by Odilon Redon, as well as paintings and pastels by Edgar Degas, Paul Cézanne, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Berthe Morisot, Paul Signac, Pierre Bonnard, Edouard Vuillard and Henri Matisse.

OPEN SPACE #19 MOHAMMAD ALFARAJ I’D RATHER BE A DRAGONFLY THAN A LION
UNTIL 18 JANUARY 2027
As part of the Open Space programme, the Fondation has invited artist Mohammad Alfaraj (b. 1993, Saudi Arabia) to create a site-specific work in Gallery 8, marking his first solo exhibition in a French institution. The exhibition "I'd rather be a dragonfly than a lion" brings together a series of videos within an installation composed of objects, photographs, and drawings.
Drawing on Saudi Arabia’s oral traditions, he explores social practices, urban and rural architectures, and everyday narratives to examine the relationships between humans and nature. His stop-motion animations often take the form of poetic fables that engage with contemporary ecological, social, and cultural issues. These narratives bring together imagination, collective memory, and the living world, achieving a resonance that extends far beyond their place of origin.
Free access with a ticket for the "Gustave Fayet: Collector - Designer" exhibition.
